CT to Feature R&D Projects in Andalucía

The R&D projects focus on improvements to manufacturing processes, reducing costs and weight and also incorporating new materials. At the beginning of the year the Enterprise Europe Network, which is connected to the European Commission, issued a report defining the innovation by CT in Andalusia as “exceptional”.

CT, an international engineering company, reinforces its commitment to innovation as the driver to growth, differentiation and added value to be able to offer to the aeronautical sector. In 2018 CT in Andalusia started two new innovative projects and continues to work on other R&D projects to provide solutions to the challenges of the aeronautical industry. The projects are about improving manufacturing processes, reducing costs and weight and also the incorporation of new, lighter and more resistant materials. The active projects of investigation are:

Bulkheads: The aim is to analyse the viability of the design of the new generation of pressure bulkheads in the rudder and also in the belly-fairing (fairing under the fuselage between the wings and which houses the undercarriage and other systems) for the aeronautical industry

Flexirapidman: This is a consortium for a Project whose aim is to evolve and develop efficient technologies of manufacturing which are applicable to the sectors of aeronautics, automobile, rail and naval.

Smart Robotics: Develops the technological elements of robotization needed in order to provide flexible and automated manufacturing, assembly, and painting solutions for aeronautical structures.

Pultrubeam: The project is to set up a pultrusion line to manufacture composites.

Fado: This develops an additive manufacturing technique that uses a laser application and is capable of reducing by 30% the amount of material required to manufacture components.

Hefesto: It is focused on risk analysis associated with the production process of the 3D model, which includes the development of a collaborative system to optimize workflows between the design and manufacturing teams.

Awimas: Entails the development of a digital model of electrical components that handles electrical information of the equipment and wiring.

At the beginning of the year the Enterprise Europe Network, which is connected to the European Commission, issued a report defining the innovation by CT Ingenieros in Andalusia as “exceptional”. The report confirmed that the global output in innovation management in CT Ingenieros is at the top of the list in the study. CT obtained higher ratings than the leaders in the sector (these represented the average output of 10% of the best companies in the study) in three of the five categories in the report: innovation strategy, organisation, the culture of innovation and the life cycle process in innovation.

From Seville and Cadiz CT provides engineering services to the sectors of aeronautics, naval, automobile and defence and covers the entire life cycle of the product.
