The Celebrity Edge is the first state-of-the-art cruise ship in the Edge Class operated by Celebrity Cruises, a subsidiary of the American Royal Caribbean Group.
The vessel is 306 metres long, has a beam of 39 metres and can accommodate 2,918 passengers. Part of the detailed engineering for the different systems in the communal zones (lounges, restaurants, casino, etc.) was carried out by our teams in Saint-Nazaire, in line with the company’s near-shore policy, and in Narón (A Coruña), remotely. This way of working makes it possible to coordinate the tasks with the shipyard, minimising errors and bringing forward delivery times. Moreover, we have a team specialising in “Study Actions” that provides the shipyard with technical support in dealing with incidents affecting design and on-board facilities.
This second communal project has reaffirmed the collaboration with the French shipyard, making Chantiers de l’Atlantique one of CT’s main customers in the shipbuilding sector.
