Developement and construction of the largest vessels in the Australian Royal Navy’s fleet.

The largest ship ever built for the Royal Australian Navy, Landing Helicopter Dock NUSHIP Adelaide, passes through Sydney Heads for the first time.

The Australian Landing Helicopter Dock (ALHD) vessels, which are based on the Juan Carlos I design, are the largest ships ever to be built in Spain for a foreign navy. CT was involved in this project from the outset, carrying out part of the basic engineering. The vessel design was split into 8 zones for the detailed engineering, CT being responsible for 4 of them. CT was likewise entrusted with the production engineering, construction strategies or technical installation documents in those zones.

We carried out the configured element fault-tree, FMEA analysis, fire-risk analysis for the RAMS (ILS & Safety) part, and in the Test Department, we prepared the documentation associated with the FAT, HAT and SAT tests.

While the vessels were being built, members of our technical team were sent to Australia to help with the supervision.
